Rumi's Profound Revelation of Divine Love

The path that led to his illumination.

The above poetic passages unveil some of Rumi’s most profound revelations of Divine Love — a Love that does not soothe the complacent Soul but rather unsettles it to awaken from the slumber of Self-absorption. It is the call of the Divine that shatters false securities and attachments, dismantles illusions, and dissolves all that is not True, until one becomes a Lover and stands bare before Truth.

The glance of such love is not a tender caress but a sacred upheaval — a storm that liberates the Soul from the clutches of worldly attachments, stripping it of its borrowed ornaments so it may adorn itself with the authenticity of its innate essence. To be distraught, in Rumi’s tongue, is not despair but purification through the fire of becoming sanctified. In Persian mysticism, this sacred act of remolding signifies the annihilation of the confined and conditioned Soul, so that the boundless and luminous Self may emerge. Through the hands of Divine Craftsmanship, the fragments of illusion are not discarded but reformed into the architecture of awakening. It is the sacred emptiness that precedes fullness — the death of illusion that gives birth to illumination. When Rumi says that what you build, He will destroy, he speaks of the dissolution of ego’s construct — the illusive castles of wealth and possession, pride, complacency, and presumptuous intellect — so that the Beloved may raise within you the True citadel of Truth, wrought from the tempered clay of surrender.

When love becomes sincere, He reveals His beauty — a beauty so overwhelming that even the wisest sage is silenced and depleted of his knowledge. For in Divine Awe, the intellect collapses, and knowing yields to Becoming. In that moment, the Lover no longer knows the Beloved; he merges and communes with the Beloved. Divine Love, as the ultimate state of consciousness (Nirvana in Hinduism), is not of comprehension — it is of dissolution.

In the Presence of the Beloved, all colors fade into the radiance of One. The Lover, emptied and purified of his old, contaminated Self, becomes a mirror — reflecting all without distortion, untouched by any turbulence, unscarred by pain. This is the final surrender — the silent witnessing of Truth as it is — where Love alone remains, Selfless and Eternal.

My Story

The summary of my journey below will inspire you to shift your efforts toward a new and brighter destination called You!

A Journey of Enlightenment

A distillation of how I won the war without a fight, by Becoming Who I Am.

I have lived through an extraordinary adventure, an amazing life in search of meaning and fulfillment. It was a journey marked by numerous disappointments, challenges, betrayals, adversities, setbacks, achievements, and triumphs.

I began much like a lump of raw clay, formed by life, burned, glazed, and burned again in the kiln of life and became a vessel that fermented the best grapes of my experiences into a fine wine capable of quenching the thirst of other genuine seekers in search of themselves.

This is more than just a personal triumph; it is a beacon for those who have doubted me, a reckoning for those who sought to diminish my light, and a revelation for those ready to awaken by the brightness of their inner light.

I earned a B.S. degree in economics from the University of Delaware, an M.S. degree in Interior Design and Architecture from Drexel University, and my art portfolio earned me an M.F.A scholarship to Temple University Tyler School of Art.

After ten years of college education and winning significant awards, media attention, acknowledgments, public praise, etc. I was curiously discontent for not knowing the root causes of human suffering, challenges, and difficulties.

I had read many self-help books and sat in several therapeutic sessions with various psychologists, including a highly 'recommended one' with books and an association with a prestigious Ivy League University.

None of these 'therapists' offered a workable and compelling answer to my inquiries other than just listening, asserting certain arbitrary opinions, praising, applauding, and acknowledging me for my abilities and resourcefulness, and scheduling the next session.

When I first met the 'best one' from the Ivy League University with lots of enthusiasm, hopes, and expectations, after a few minutes of initial chatting, his secretary brought his lunch, and he asked me,

"Do you mind if I eat my lunch while you are talking?"

I naively gave him the benefit of the doubt and said, No, not at all; go ahead!

I then talked briefly about what I was there for. I said I want to know the nature of our spirit, its relationship to our mind and body, how to uncover and rehabilitate our latent talents and abilities, and the root causes of our struggles despite exerting our best efforts. I elaborated further by saying, I want to know the hidden sources of human strife and suffering. As he continued eating his lunch, he asked me:

"What exactly are you looking for?"

His question unsettled my certainty, as he pretended he didn’t understand me enough to carve more time to enjoy his lunch; nevertheless, I continued.

I rephrased my inquiry and said I was looking for an honest, wise man, a real mentor, a genuine guru, someone who could resolve my stops, barriers, and discontent with practical tools and solutions. I seek someone who can reveal the mysterious underlying causes of my perplexing challenges.

I explained further, sayingg that I am aware of a potentiality within me far greater than what I am experiencing. I am looking for a Holistic Methodology to discover myself and realize who I am.

Without any hesitation, and with a mouth full of lunch, he said:

"You are expecting too much!"

In the face of my growing disillusionment, I somehow managed to remain realistically hopeful and optimistic, holding steadfast to the belief that my path toward clarity and enlightenment was yet to be discovered.

Soaring Toward the Horizon of Discovery!

A year and a half passed while I continued with my search. One day, at an auspicious moment, when I was at the right place and time, and purely by chance, I asked an intriguing question out of curiosity from someone I was admiring from a distance.

He instantly understood the depth of my inquiry for a Holistic Expansion, and he graciously, without any hesitation, directed me to what I was looking for to hack the roots of my challenges and come home to myself.

The encounter was like a fog lifting before my eyes, as if the universe had placed this person in my path to guide me toward my calling.

The Way of the Brilliant Ancient Masters

When a serendipitous moment came knocking!

A path paved and written by many remarkable men and enlightened beings, reflected in the rare beauty of their writings, ideals and aspirations.

A path promising to remove the adverse influences of my past, and awakening me to discover who I am.

This was a serendepitous moment, when a flash of hope dispelled the fog that had clouded my vision to truth and revealed the way toward the discovery of my Self, a moment, when a tremor of excitement stirred in my heart, placing me at the threshold of an expansive new vista of search and discovery.

I was then awakened to recall another reservoir of resources, effortlessly accessible: the profound wealth of my Persian cultural heritage — a wellspring of wisdom, insights and knowledge, deeply ingrained and supported by my linguistic abilities, that had been deeply-rooted within me all along.

This was a time, when I realized how I had overlooked this reservoir of 'Gold,' taking its depth and richness for granted due to cultural familiarity, which had dulled my vision to cherish ad value its practical application. I felt like a fish out of water that suddenly had realized what water was, and guided me to return to my roots.

Stupefied by my own forgetfulness, I realized the need to excavate, refresh, and polish my understanding of my cultural heritage as a solid and valuable foundation for my higher aspirations.

My newly established framework gradually spread into studying different style of arts, branches of ancient and modern philosophy, Buddhism, and modern science.

My enduring and sumptuous endeavor necessitated a courageous and enduring commitment to dive deep into the sea of wisdom to find the pearls of enlightenment.

It was a 30-year challenging journey of tearing down the curtains of mystery one panel at a time. It illuminated and clarified my entire education and perspective on life and disabused me of my foisted beliefs, false perceptions, and oppressive conditioning.

It erased the painful effects of my life experiences, healed my heart, cleared my perception and soothed my soul. It helped me strengthen my courage to burn off the deadwood and discard what was not worth keeping to prepare me for a:

Renewal and Rebirth of Myself.

Moreover, the journey gave me the ultimate and priceless gift of a serene sense of wholeness and becoming worthy of communing with the Source of Creation and continue to reflecting its beauty through my art.

The process empowered me with a calm state of mind, enabling me to pursue higher aspirations with confidence and poise.

My inward journey became an amazingly soothin realization that taught me how to stop searching for meaning and fulfillment externally. As I began to know myself, I became aware of the false remedies and temporary fixes, the hollow and superficial solutions in my outer world competing for my attention.

I have discovered that everything I have been looking for was already in me, no matter where I am, which included my best friend and ally; a discovery that no one can ever take away from me.

Not Even God!

Because the Source of Creation is the spring I am drawing from.

I had realized at last that I had come home to myself.

Dear Lady is a piece of America’s artistic heritage, saluting the Statue of Liberty’s Centennial Birthday Celebration. The Museum of American Folk Art in New York City launched a nationwide textile art/quilt competition in honor of the Statue of Liberty Centennial in 1986.

The remarkable skills and talents of numerous artists across America were put to task for one year in creating masterpieces worthy of the symbolic stature of the Statue of Liberty as the best in contemporary design/art and artistry judged by 28 regional and national judges in New York City.

Dear Lady became an award recipient and a part of The Museum of American Folk Art’s collection to tour the nation’s best museums and galleries in the United States and abroad for three years.

The wreath is an intertwined branch of olive and laurel, a tribute to American cultural achievement. The olive branch for peace, goodwill, and victory is derived from the customs of ancient Greece, who waged war not for occupancy; thus, it is a symbol of victory, honor, and clemency.

Case Study 1/ 6

A priceless recovery was achieved in one afternoon.

Deva was a 31-year-old, attractive corporate data processor. Her life seemed to be moving in the right direction, except that she was deeply entangled in an unresolvable dilemma, draining the joy out of her creativity and vitality. She had a pale complexion masked with apparent signs of despair.

For nearly five years, Deva was trapped in a badly mismatched relationship because she could not face and resolve her complicated problem. She was embarrassed about it to the point of hiding her relationship from her parents, who lived only 20 minutes away, as if it were a dark secret.

She was introverted and stressed, deeply distracted by her false perceptions and the fear of the unknown, and unable to consider what was truly worthy of her despite her best efforts.

We met for one long afternoon, and I opened our dialogue by asking her a series of questions to guide her out of her confusion and lead her toward the "switch" to turn on her "inner light" and see things on her own terms and as they were instead of how they "appeared" to her.

Halfway through the process, I could observe the physical changes in her appearance. Her facial tone and color were visibly improving. Her body language began to reveal her confidence and awareness rising, leading her toward finding her way out of her dilemma.

We spent the balance of our time exploring her abilities and higher aspirations. She felt confident, uplifted, and clear about her circumstances and choices. She left with a new disposition, determined and knowing what she wanted to do.

The next day, she informed me that she had made an appointment to meet with her boyfriend to "discuss the state of their relationship," letting him know clearly in advance the exact nature of their discussion. Two days later, Deva had managed to amicably part ways with her boyfriend as friends. *

*This was a remarkably swift recovery for Deva. I didn't try to inspire, advise, motivate, or encourage her on what to think or do. Instead, I shone my torch in her direction. I guided her to examine and inspect her circumstances, helping her discover her truth, which in turn helped her find the switch and turn on her inner light.

This is a station where you are only influenced by the beam of light of what is continuously calling you toward:

Who You Truly Are!

But only if you are ready

and willing to achieve it.

Your healing begins when you say, "I will not abandon myself any more, for my life, my heart, and my peace are no longer negotiable." It is the day you decide not to wait any more for anyone to permit you to live fully and whole because you give that permission to yourself.

Overcoming a Broken Heart

A young entrepreneur in her 30s approached me with two emotional challenges. The first issue was that her heart was broken, feeling betrayed by her intimate partner. The second issue was having a turbulent relationship with her family.
